What to Know Before you Go

 What are your current COVID19  policies and procedures?

Actons Hotel are proud to have been accredited with the COVID19 Safety Charter, endorsed by Failte Ireland and the Government of Ireland. This involved all of our staff taking part in hygiene and safety control training, following the recommended cleaning and safety guidelines. Our priority is to ensure that our guests have a safe and enjoyable stay when visiting Kinsale. 


What time is check in?

Check in is from 4pm. Check out time is at 12 noon


What time is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served in Fisher Street Restaurant each morning between 7:30am and 10:30am Monday to Friday and 8am and 11:00am on Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays. If you need to checkout before this time, please request an early breakfast when making your booking.


What time is dinner served?

Delicious bar food is available in Sidney’s Bar and Garden Lounge every day from 12 noon until 9pm. Afternoon Tea is available every day between 12 noon and 4pm but must be booked 24 hours prior to arrival.


What are the Leisure Centre opening hours?

The Health and Fitness Club at Actons is open to hotel residents and the general public Monday to Friday between 6:30am and 9pm (last entry 8:30pm) and Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays between 8am and 8pm (last entry 7:30pm). The swimming pool is closed for swimming lessons on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 3pm to 5pm and Friday between 7pm and 8pm. Treatments are available but need to be booked in advance. Is there car parking available on site?

Yes. We have our own private car park for residents which is free of charge.


How far is the hotel from town?

Actons Hotel is situated right in the in the centre of town, with multiple pubs, restaurants and shops available within a very short walking distance.


Do you have a salon onsite?

Actons Hotel does not have an onsite salon. If you require salon services, please contact us on +353 (0) 21 477 23 45 so we can help you find alternative arrangements.


Is there a place to leave luggage?

Yes. If you check in early and your room is not ready, we have a luggage room where your belongings can be kept while you explore the town.


Is there a place to keep my valuables?

Yes. If you need any of your belongings kept secure, simply drop them to reception where we can keep them in deposit bags within our safe, which cannot be tampered with.


Do I need a credit/debit card to secure my booking?

Yes. We will require a credit/debit card to secure your booking. Payment will not be taken until departure unless you have booked an advance purchase offer. Please read the terms and conditions carefully. When you confirm your booking, there will be a €1 pending transaction which will be returned to your card in a couple of days. On check in, we will require a pre-authorisation on a credit card which will be released back into your card if you have a different method of payment. Otherwise, the pre-auth can be used to complete your payment method.  If you have a debit card, pre auth is not possible and we will take full payment at the time of check-in.


What is the cancellation policy?

Should the need to cancel arise, please advise us 72 hours prior to date of arrival to avoid any cancellation fee for reservations up to 3 nights. When booking for more than 4 nights, please advise us 7 days prior to the date of arrival to avoil any cancellation fees. This policy does not cover the ‘Advance Purchase’ rate which requires full prepayment and carries a non-refundable clause in acceptance at time of booking. Please note that cancellation policies can vary throughout other sites, always read your terms and conditions before completing your booking.


Do you have WiFi in the hotel?

Yes. We have highspeed WiFi across the entire hotel which is complimentary for all our guests. 


I have food allergies, do you cater for these?

Absolutely. However, we ask that any specific requirements be forwarded to the hotel prior to your arrival. We also offer a breakdown of allergens on all our menus.


Is Actons Hotel Kinsale pet-friendly?

Unfortunately not. For the comfort of all guests, only Guide Dogs and Assistance Animals are allowed in the hotel.


Do you have hairdryers in the rooms?

Yes, there are hairdryers in each of the rooms here at Actons Hotel Kinsale.


Are there tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms?

Yes, there are tea/coffee making facilities in each of the rooms here at Actons Hotel Kinsale.


Is smoking allowed in Actons Hotel Kinsale?

No. Under Irish law, smoking is not permitted in any part of the hotel or in the guestrooms. Smoking in a bedroom will incur a penalty of €150.


Do you provide irons and ironing boards in the rooms?

Not in the rooms but irons and ironing boards are available on request.


Can I request a late check out?

Yes you can request a late check out for 2pm, however this is subject to availability and may incur a surcharge of €30.
